Default A W/Mo that DOESN'T HEAL...

Well I usually hate W/Mo's(bad bad experiences) but i decided to make one for a pvp char just to try it out. Well I used the regular paladin build to start up but i changed it from healing to prot.

I believe my stats are
12 swords(+1 rune)=13
10 strength(+1 helm +1 rune)=12
8 protection prayers

I've always hated healing hands because it works only on attacks and who goes after a warrior first neway? And if your the last one standing it probably wont help you much. So here's my skill set

Mend ailment/pure strike/contemplation of purity
frenzy
gash
galrath slash
final thrust
amity{E}
shielding hands
Res sig

I was wearing a dragon helm
glad chest
glad legs
knights boots(minor absorb)
and dragon arms

When you are in trouble cast shielding hands it works really nicely for things that go through armor as well for example i was getting hit for 5 with balthazars spirit with shielding hands. The pvp shield was -2dmg while enchanted and +45 health while enchanted and the sword was +15%dmg over 50% health and zealous

At the beggining of the battle i pick a target or the called target and use frenzy you'll earn the energy bck quick with the zealous hilt. At first I used pure strike for the extra dmg but i had no condition removal so when i was blinded I was screwed. So i added in mend ailment. I really want to put in hamstring or something but i really like the skill set or sprint to catch up to people cause they alwasy run . The leet amity was just for fun. Such as if I'm going for the enemy caster and the warrior is going after me I would use it and they are useless for a while or if the monk was getting teamed badly i would use it but... in competition arena its hard cause people are such pains i would tell them not to attack them cause their are more important targets sometimes though it works nicely.

Anyone have any idea's for making this build better?
I really need a snare but im not sure which one of my skill slots i should give up if any. or maybe sprint.. I've been thinking about contemplation of purity cause the only enchant i use is shielding hands can ususally wait for it to end. then cast it to remove a hex and condition. And any other good elites? i might want to use instead of amity though it works well enough if i tell them

there are much better prot skills than shielding hands,

Lol I took amity just for the hell of it and Shielding hands is awesome it is tons better then healing hands especially with the shield and knights boots i believe i get -15 dmg reduction which is a huge amount its recharge isnt to long 25 secs its 5-10 energy i forget ad frenzy gets it all back. Tons of times people all hit me for 0. The R/E premade chars hit me for 0 cause its all seperate dmgs not 1. its pretty funny when a war stands around for around 15 sec right after i use amity. the recharge is long but it saved the monk on my team and i was lucky to get 1 many times. I couldve taken shield of regen but th cost sucks and mark of prot would be my only prot prayer elite left and its decent. 10 sec of no shielding hands i can live with it expeically on its recharge. Gash is just for the deep wound it lowers their health dramatically if applied first. And axe well i dont have as many axe skills and this is mainly from the paladin build.

Gash - Sword Attack
If this attack hits a bleeding foe, you strike for 5-9 more damage and that foe suffers a deep wound, lowering that foe's maximum health by 20% for 5-17 seconds.

Dork.

Glad to see someone bringing along Mend Ailment. My own PvE W/Mo uses that as his only monk skill most of the time, and it's invaluable when blinded, crippled, weakened...basically, it comes in handy a lot, even without any points in protection. And I almost NEVER see anyone use it in pugs.

your flaw is that you're thinking of damage reduction collectively,
in case you didn't know,
your damage reduction is tallied by which piece of armor got hit, so if you get hit in you chest and you're not wearing knight's chest piece, well sorry the other damage reductions are useless all you get is shielding hands
and against a final thrust, how helpful is shielding hand going to be? 100 dmg - 10, ouch.

1.) You're totally wrong sgtclarity. The absorption on Knights and runes stacks and applies to all armor pieces. However, you're kinda right about Shielding Hands. See #2.

2.) Original Poster: You said it, as a Warrior you don't get attacked in PVP. Why bring heals then? Offense for the win. Mend Ailment is okay for arena stuff.

3.) Gash does nothing if the target isn't bleeding. Either launch it or incorporate Sever artery. Or better yet, launch the sword and use an axe. The axe condition combo chain starts with Deep Wound, which is a win.

Absorption does in fact apply to all armor pieces; it's almost detatched in a way that it isn't able to be penetrated like armor. Warriors, however, DO get attacked in arenas, and like you wouldn't believe.

Why are you wearing a dragon helm? Please switch to the Duelist's Helm for +1 to swordsmanship. I would get your swordsmanship to 16 as well, since it has benefits. Also, knight's boots contain a major absoprtion rune, not a minor. So it's a blanket -2 damage.

Also, Amity, Shielding Hands, contemplation of purity? Why? You're supposed to be dealing damage, not worrying about healing yourself. Leave that to your monks, it's their job, not yours. Also, any warrior build without sprint is gimped, you'll be beat by runners all the time.

I dont see why not to go amity. With a good party, its deadly, as it can single handedly shut down every war and ranger in the area. And with no noobs around to mess it up, whats not to love? Most people dont use it cus its not morth the monk's elite, but for a sword war (sword has no good elites), why not? Amity costs 5 mana, even a war can afford that. Since he has prot, why not take shielding hands to put on his monk? Sure it doesnt help that much against 100 damage nukes, but thats hardly only tyoe of damage a monk takes. I arena all the time with my monk, and whenever there are wars, rangers, or frag mesmers around, Im always taking several small groups of ~30 every half second (or faster) -12 on each of those really helps.

Sever/Gash/Galrath/Final/Sprint/and Res Sig could be the war's other skills.

Lol Um... this is my PvP char for arenas Monks don't come around often Or else it would make my build tons easier. Sprint thats what i was saying b4. I had that problem and i needed to add it but.. It's a stance so i was going with hamstring since i can't stack it with frenzy. 16 swords? I really don't wanna buy a sup sword rune for my pvp char which i delete frequently. Just asking for some ways to make my PvP build more effective. I justed faced a 3 war and 1 ele arena team with amity and it stopped them dead for around 11 secs i believe which isnt a lot but decent cause all 3 of them were stopped. I will prob go with the duelists helm so i can get swords to 14. my strength's 11 but i dont use strenght much so its not a big deal.

You use strength every time you use an attack skill.

I know of the % armor penetration but, I dont use strength skills. Such as power attack or shield bash or endure pain. So its nice but i could put more into prot
